PONTYPOOL. SHOCKING ACCIDENT.—A shocking accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on the Horse and Jockey pitch, a hilly piece of road about a couple of miles out of Pontypool, on the road leading for Usk and Abergavenny, A little girl. about nine or ten years of age, daughter of Job Thomas, of Glascoed, was returning from Pontypool Market in a cart belonging to Edward Williams, lime burner, Glascoed, When near the place named above, the horse became unmanageable, and started off. The little girl attempted to get out of the cart, when she fell, and the wheel went over her head. She was laid on the bank, and assistance was sent for to Pontypool, but she died in a short time.
