Lewis and Jane Lewis of Three Stiles farm’s descendants.

Lewis Lewis (1780-1855) married Jane Miles at Trevethin Parish Church on 4th June 1799 and farmed at Three Stiles, Glascoed.

Mary Edmunds, a descendant of Lewis and Jane’s, provided me with a list of names (I assume from inside a family bible or the like). Lewis and Jane had a number of children, all of whom are listed below. Mary explained on the Mongenes message board:

“To clarify the people on the list I sent you. Leah Lewis, the eldest child of Lewis Lewis is the mother of Lewis Lewis born in 1826 . She died in 1832 and is buried with a child in the churchyard at Ebenezer chapel Pentrepiod.  She was married to another Lewis, Benjamin. Also her father Lewis Lewis and his wife Jane Lewis are buried there. I have pictures of the gravestones but they are incomplete or difficult to read. The others are siblings and I guess the 4 Williams are the children of one of the other daughters. I also have pictures of the tythe maps for Trichymad (Three Stiles) from the NLW. So many Lewises!”

Many thanks to Mary for allowing me to reproduce the photograph of the list on this site.
