Research:
It has been suggested that Elizabeth may well have been more than a housekeeper for William Powell, since her son James adopted the surname Powell after the 1851 census. It is my opinion that this is a very likely scenario, since William lived apart from his wife on each of the 1851 and 1861 censuses in addition to the above factors, although will need more proof before linking the two families together.
