General:
Len's name, as far as I know, was not Lenin, but it is true that Edwin wanted to call him Lenin. I believe his wife put her foot down, not an easy thing to do where Edwin was concerned. He was famous for his obstinacy. As an example, my mother's name on her birth certificate is Elwyn, the male spelling, rather than Elwin, the female spelling, which she always used in later life. But he wouldn't take telling.
