There is some question over Sarah's parentage. On her marriage certificate, her father was listed as John Meredith.

On the 1891 census, her step father was said to be James Eddins (Martha Meredith then presumably her mother)

It is possible that the "John Meredith" could be John Harney, Martha Meredith's first husband.
