Berthia Parker

   Another name for Berthia was Bethia Parker.²

  General Notes:

A second Berthia Parker, daughter of a Thomas and Jane Parker was baptised in the neighbouring Llandenny parish on 2nd May 1852. I have assumed that the Berthias are one and the same, since it is such an unusual name and the earlier Berthia's dates coincide with the dates on the 1861 census with her aunty Hannah Lewis (nee Williams).

• Census: 1861, 7 Apr 1861, Bush Cottage, Glascoed, Monmouthshire.

• Census: 1881, 3 Apr 1881, Coedpenmaen Road, Eglwyilan, Glamorgan.

Berthia married Thomas Smith, son of Joseph Smith and Unknown, on 10 Aug 1873 in Trevethin Parish Church, Pontypool, Monmouthshire. (Thomas Smith was born circa 1846 in Monkswood, Monmouthshire.)
