I have had a few interesting messages in the past couple of weeks, with an addition to the site and an update. St. Michael’s church has not closed – although these are important times as its future is being discussed, with the hope that something can be kept going with the support of local and other interested people. Read more about it here. A former pupil of Glascoed school got in touch and wrote a lovely article about her time there in the mid to late 1970s. It really is worth a read! Read all about it here! I have one other article “brewing.” It just needs some more research to do it justice. The subject sounds like a really interesting person. It features one of the earliest residents of “The Paddocks” – Dr W.H. (William) Edmunds, a rugby playing young Doctor, who was sadly one of the lost generation who perished as a result of the Great War. I want to do a piece on William and his family, who were at “The Paddocks” somewhere between 1901 and 1910.
