1891 Census: Glascoed.
The censuses of Glascoed as recorded here are of the
Glascoed that the census enumerators recorded. I was informed by Olwen Hughes
that the Glascoed she remembered growing up included an additional 15
properties which although in the parish of Llanbaddock, are really part of the
Glascoed community. I have added Upper House (Llanbaddock) – there’s an
Upper House (Glascoed) already recorded – and Upper Wernhir. The others
will be added later in the year: Berthlan, Clearwell, Glen View, Green Tree,
Greenmeadow Cottage, Greenpool farm, High Cross, Llanynant, New House (again
Llanbaddock to distinguish from Glascoed parish’s version), Ty Mawr and
Tynycaia.
NB, No disabilities were noted against the names of any of
the inhabitants on this census, so the data has been therefore omitted.
