Birthplace is written as Crickhowell on 2 censuses and something that was unclear but looks like Cwmbychan on the other census.

It has proved difficult to locate Cwmbychan on modern maps, although there is a farm called Cwm near to Llangenny, near Crickhowell which may be the birthplace of Roger.
