Elizabeth (Edwards)

  Research Notes:

I have assumed that this Elizabeth is the same as Richard Edwards' wife in the 1851 census, although this could be a wrong assumption.

Birthplaces were fairly often mis-noted on censuses, sometimes dependant on who was givin g the information to the enumerator.

Richard died (I believe) in 1856 at the Workhouse in Pontypool, and it appears that Elizabeth has come back to Glascoed by 1861. She is living in what was probably the same house that she lived in with Richard.

• Census: 1851, 30 Mar 1851, Near Three Stiles, Glascoed, Monmouthshire.

• Census: 1861, 7 Apr 1861, Upper Jerusalem Cottage, Glascoed, Monmouthshire.

• Occupation: Cottager, 7 Apr 1861, Upper Jerusalem Cottage, Glascoed, Monmouthshire.

Elizabeth married Richard Edwards, son of Unknown and Unknown. (Richard Edwards was born circa 1795 in Glascoed, Monmouthshire, died in Jan 1855 in Pontypool District Union Workhouse, Llanfrechfa Upper, Monmouthshire and was buried on 31 Jan 1855 in Mamhilad parish church, Mamhilad, Monmouthshire.)
